Oscar Wilde's only full-length novel is revived in the present age with a gorgeous staff cast.
The story is set in London at the end of the 19th century.Dorian, a young aristocrat with both youthful beauty and an innocent spirit.
・Grey.His friend Basil, a painter, was fascinated by his charm and left a portrait of Gray's beautiful figure with all his heart.There, Gray, who recognized his own beauty for the first time, became close to Basil's best friend Sir Henry, repeated evil deeds, and drowned in pleasure.Meanwhile, Gray meets actress Sybil Vane.
Katsuhide Suzuki, who has been active in recent years, is in charge of composition and direction.
Suzuki said, ``Oscar Wilde is one of the three most important writers in my theater career, along with Tennessee Williams and Edward Albee. If so, the pinnacle of the novel would be The Portrait of Dorian Gray.This time, I was able to adapt that novel to the stage.Actually, I thought about making it into a stage more than ten years ago. There was a paperback book I bought at that time, with memos and ideas written in red pen, and every page was bright red.It was only when I got Koji Yamamoto, an actor who I could entrust everything to, that I finally saw the light of day. Now, I have no hesitation! Let me proudly declare my aestheticism!”
Appearances include Koji Yamamoto, who is active in a wide range of stages, TV dramas, and movies, Yukikazu Kano of the Hanagumi play, Akira Date of the Asagaya Spiders, and after winning the National Bishoujo Grand Prix, he has built a career on the movie and TV stage. Atsuko Sudo, Ryotaro Yonemura of Potudoru, and Ichiro Mikami, who is familiar with the public theater, are all talented and unique performers.
