Tanz Mainz, a contemporary dance company full of energy from the State Theater Mainz, Germany, is coming to Japan for the first time!

Overview
Tanz Mainz, a contemporary dance company affiliated with Germany's State Theater Mainz, will be coming to Japan for the first time with PROMISE, a collaborative work with choreographer Sharon Eyal, who is taking the world dance scene by storm.
In addition to expanding the range of expression through ambitious collaborations with internationally active choreographers and versatile guest artists who transcend genres, we present innovative repertoire works one after another each season, and are gaining popularity not only in Germany but also around the world. Tanz Mainz is attracting attention in the contemporary dance scene.
Choreographer Sharon Eyal, who has become a hot topic for directing Christian Dior's collection, is known for ``Plafona Now'' (14),2018This is their third collaboration, following ``Soul Chain'' (17), which won Germany's prestigious theater award, the Faust Prize, in 3 and was an international success.
``PROMISE'' is a spectacular stage where minimal and primitive movements are sublimated into dynamic dance.
The seven performers move as if they were a single living entity. Eyal's unique worldview and Tanz Mainz instantly bring to mind various emotions such as bondage and love, intimacy and longing, ecstasy and loneliness, and captivate the audience with even the slightest details of limb movements and facial expressions. A special stage will begin that combines his strong body and outstanding technique.

A contemporary dance company affiliated with the State Theater Mainz, Germany. Since 2014, Moto Doman, who has served as director, has been enthusiastically collaborating with internationally active choreographers and versatile guest artists who transcend genres. We aim to be a bridge between the independent scene and the public community, from cutting-edge dance to participating in opera productions, performances of children's works, and workshops. All of the works performed are original works born out of collaborative projects with guest artists, and the show continues to expand its innovative repertoire each season. In 2018, he received the German Performing Arts Award Faust Prize for his collaboration with Sharon Eyal, Soul Chain. As an ambassador for the city of Mainz and the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, she organizes the Tanz Mainz Festival every year and is also active in social contribution activities through contemporary dance.
Choreography｜Sharon Eyal
Originally from Israel, currently living in France. She was a dancer with the Batsheva Dance Company from 1990 to 2008. During that time, she also served as an associate director and provided a number of choreographed works. In 13, she founded the company LEV with Guy Behar. She also collaborates with many of the world's leading companies, including the Netherlands Dance Theater (NDT), the Berlin State Ballet, the Paris Opera, and the Royal Swedish Ballet. In addition to being widely known in the fashion world for directing Christian Dior's collection, she has also appeared in the music video (directed by Mike Mills) of America's leading rock band, The National, and is active in a wide range of other fields. .
Major awards include the Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters of the French Republic (23), the French Dance and Drama Critics Association Award (17), and the FEDORA Van Cleef & Arpels Ballet Award (17).
