Beckett Workshop "Catastrophe" "What Where"
Atelier Beckett ◎Catastrophe ◎Quoi où
100th Anniversary of Birth "Autumn of Beckett in Setagaya"

French directors Bruno Mesa and Makoto Sato, both of whom are directing Beckett's works, made use of their mutual experiences to create Beckett's late short play "Catastrophe" (1982) by competing with the cultural differences between Japan and France. ) and “What and Where” (1983) will be created in a workshop format, and a public presentation will be held on the final day.
Beckett's works are said to be difficult for both actors and directors. We will challenge with Japanese and French actors in a situation that is different from normal production.
