Jean Genet (1910-86) was a writer whose appearance itself was an "incident," whose Diary of a Thief, which he wrote while in prison, was discovered by Sartre and Cocteau. rice field.
The maids premiered in 1947 at the Théâtre de la Athénée in Paris, directed by Louis Jouvet.
In Japan, it was introduced for the first time in 1963 as an experimental performance at the Bungakuza Atelier.
More than half a century has passed since then, and "maids" are still being performed around the world.
Up-and-coming director Norihito Nakayashiki will perform this work with a translation by Moriaki Watanabe.
The two maids (sisters) are played alternately by Hiroshi Yazaki, a young actor who is currently attracting the most attention, and Masahiro Usui, a member of D-BOYS. It is a topical work in July this year.
