"Mercury Fur," written by British playwright Philip Ridley in 2005, will premiere in Japan at Theater Tram.
This is the 4th production by Ridley and directed by Akira Shirai, and all of them have been highly evaluated and talked about for their innovative theater space and shocking production.It is no exaggeration to say that Ridley is the playwright that Shirai is most inspired by.
Compared to previous works, Mercury Fur has a rather hard style with more provocative and stimulating expressions and lines, and is a cruel act that humans in extreme conditions repeat to survive. is drawn.However, in the last part, two young men who crave life and love are portrayed sadly and beautifully.

Brothers come to a tattered room.As they prepare for the party, a man suddenly shows up and asks for a "butterfly" to help them.After a while, a beautiful person called Laura appears.And one more person, a man who seems to be the mastermind of this party and a mysterious lady come.They perform their respective roles for the party with an insane amount of chatter.Before long, the party guests arrive and the party presents (the young man called) are prepared, but due to an incident with the party presents, the party takes an unexpected turn...

It's the first time I've felt trembling like this after the first day.I was able to once again feel the meaning of this work and the meaning of theater.As a director, I was very happy to see the actors desperately trying to live in this time, and I felt like I was breathing with them on stage.I once again thought that it was an amazing work, and I wanted many spectators to feel this space and have various impressions.

I feel that this work, which was released in 2005, is like a book of prophecy.I thought the last stronghold was human love.Standing on the stage again, I felt that this is a story of hope.As an actor, I felt it was my mission to make it a story of hope.I wish I could tell my customers a little bit.

This work is timely and seems to overlap with what is happening in the world.It is fateful and meaningful for me to appear.And it's a work that makes you feel responsible.I want to cherish all 27 performances one by one, and I would like to act out how Darren lives at that time.
