★Introducing part of the post-talk★
We will post excerpts from the post-talk that was held after the performance on Wednesday, May 5, about the production process.

Cast: Mansai Nomura (hereinafter Mansai) Lim Dowan (hereinafter Lim)
Mansai: Why did you pick up Woyzeck?
Lim: In 1996 there was a depression in South Korea, and many companies went bankrupt and the city was flooded with unemployed people.I learned from the newspaper that there are many fathers who cannot tell their families that their company has gone bankrupt and spend the day eating lunch in the park. When the fathers could no longer work, the mothers went out into the world, and some sold their bodies, while others cut off their children's fingers for insurance money.I thought that background was similar to the world view of "Woizek".
Mansai: I thought the critical nature of society was vividly portrayed.
Lim: I'm honored to hear that.
Mansai: Is the idea of your work Eastern?
Lim: When I studied abroad in France, I tried to create works that would please Europeans, but I was often told that my works were Korean.I thought I needed to express myself.
Mansai: The chair was used in a variety of ways, but it seemed stable and unstable.
Lim: Personally, I think chairs are very interesting. It exists even if it is just placed or someone sits on it.I think it has both stability and instability.
Mansai: I think the use of chairs arouses the imagination of the audience.

Here are some excerpts from the post-talk held after the performance on Thursday, May 5nd.

Starring: Lim Dowan (hereafter Lim) Eriko Ogawa (Ogawa)
Ogawa: When I was watching the work, I felt that the movement was wonderful, the rhythm was pleasant, and each actor was lively and unique. Please tell us about the initial rehearsal process.
Lim: After reading the text together, I search for the driving force in it from the movement. For example, we check the movement of energy coming from the inside to the outside and from the outside to the inside. For that purpose, each actor confirms the physical movement within himself, and then returns to the text and analyzes it.
Ogawa: I think Piazzolla's music was beautiful and suited the movement, but which came first, the music or the movement?
Lim: As we were rehearsing for “Woicek,” I thought it would be nice if there was music.
Ogawa: When you travel around the world and perform, you use the local language. Does it change from country to country?
Lim: I try to use the local language as much as possible because it will make the customers very happy.Overseas, we use the local language for important words that are key words.

★A message has arrived from Im Dowan (director)★
Georg Büchner depicted the absurd image of society at the time with his genius touch through the story of a soldier who was horribly destroyed by power.
It can be said that the message he left behind transcends time and continues to live today because he explored the attributes of human beings with his insight as an artist.
What I hope for this performance is that the audience can sympathize with the meaning of the 'chair', which is an object on the stage.

★A message from Mansai Nomura to "Woicek" has arrived★
In March of this year, while the afterglow of the performance of Macbeth in South Korea had yet to subside, we were able to introduce a company in Tokyo that has made a name for itself as a leading figure in Korean physical theater around the world. I am very happy.
Please take a look at this opportunity.

"Woicek"
"Woicek" is a work written around 23 by the German national playwright Georg Büchner, who died young at the age of 1835, based on the psychiatric examination records of a real murder case. After Büchner's death, the text was published and premiered in Germany in 1913.
2013 marks the 200th anniversary of Büchner's birth and the 100th anniversary of the premiere of Woyzeck."Wojzeck" is spun by a physical theater originating in South Korea, set on a minimalist stage set to the music of Astor Piazzolla, a bandoneon. The dynamic stage filled with the energy of the performers is a must-see.
