Let's think again about the "laughter" that is performed on stage.
Whether it's Kyogen, comedy, or light theater, there's a "live laughter" that comes from performing a well-crafted script. What is it that creates "laughter"?Comedy actor Shiro Ito, who has been active for 55 years, and Mr. LaSalle Ishii, who has a reputation as an actor and director, will be invited as guests to discuss the essence of "comedy" with Kyogen performer Mansai Nomura. .

Born in Tokyo in 1966.Kyogen performer.Artistic director of the Setagaya Public Theater.He is the eldest son of Living National Treasure Mansaku Nomura.General Designator of Important Intangible Cultural Property. He presides over Kyogen Gozarunoza.
In addition to Noh and Kyogen performances in Japan and overseas, he has starred in the stage plays "Meridian Ritual", "Oedipus King", "Hamlet", "Yabuhara Kengyo", and the movies "Onmyoji" and "Nobo no Shiro". In "Machigai no Kyogen", he directed and starred in a stage that made full use of Kyogen techniques, and in "Kunitojin", a stage that tried to fuse classical performing arts and modern art. In March 2012, she directed Yukio Mishima's The Marquise de Sade.
