Terumasa Hino presents “Jazz for Kids”, an annual event at our theater, which will be held for the 8th time this year.
This time it will also be held over two days. On the first day, the Terumasa Hino Quintet consisting of Hino, Akira Ishii, Kenji Hino "JINO", Takashi Sugawa, and Noritaka Tanaka will present a real jazz live, and on the second day, junior high school students from Setagaya will perform. Please enjoy the concert "Dream Jazz Band 2th Annual Concert" of the formed "Dream Jazz Band" (Drivan for short).
Junior high school students, including those who are new to musical instruments, hold five-month workshops and concerts where they present the results of their independent practice.

Continuing from last year, the Terumasa Hino Quintet and Drivan will undoubtedly be filled with the youthful power of the Terumasa Hino Quintet, with the slogan of "JAZZ POWER" to revitalize Japan after the earthquake.

Terumasa Hino
A world-famous jazz trumpeter representing Japan.
Born October 1942, 10 in Tokyo. He started playing the trumpet at the age of 25, and by the time he was 9, he was in a dance band at a U.S. military camp. Since the release of their first leader album in 13, they have received a great deal of attention from the mass media, making a fuss about the "Hinotel Boom," and have performed at numerous tours and festivals both in Japan and overseas. In 1967 he moved to the United States and worked with many musicians.She has also released a number of hit albums and appeared in many commercials. In 1975, he became the first Japanese artist to contract with the prestigious jazz label “blue note”.

In recent years, based on his own dream of "Uniting Asia", he has been giving performances in Japan and other Asian countries, and is also passionate about charity activities and teaching younger generations.He is also active in the field of painting, such as solo exhibitions and publication of art books. 2001 Art Encouragement "Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award". Received the Medal with Purple Ribbon in 2004, the Agency for Cultural Affairs Art Festival "Record Division Excellence Award", and the Mainichi Film Contest "Music Award".
