This “Jazz for Kids” is in its 6th year. On the first day, Terumasa Hino will deliver a full-fledged live show that will bring you closer to the appeal of jazz. On the second day, the “Dream Jazz Band” formed by junior high school students in Setagaya Ward and a live session by professional musicians.

*Dream Jazz Band A jazz band formed by public junior high school students in Setagaya Ward as part of the “Dream Jazz Band Workshop,” an experiential learning project to nurture the buds of talent (sponsored by the Setagaya Ward Board of Education).Terumasa Hino, a world-famous jazz trumpeter, serves as the principal, and this year marks the sixth year.By providing an opportunity to experience jazz, which is rarely touched in school classes, the purpose is to experience the joy and sense of accomplishment that can be obtained from self-expression, and to nurture children's "dreams" for the future. .In addition to learning music techniques, it is also a place to experience various things such as living with music, the importance of never giving up until the end, and actively taking on challenges.

<Profile> Terumasa Hino [Hino Terumasa] (Jazz Trumpeter)
Born in Tokyo in 42. He started playing the trumpet at the age of 9, and by the time he was 13, he was in a dance band at a U.S. military camp. After releasing the leader album at the beginning of 67, it gained popularity and released albums both in Japan and overseas, and developed live performances. In 02, he received the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award for Art Encouragement in the Popular Performing Arts category, in 04 he received the Medal with Purple Ribbon, and in the same year he received the Agency for Cultural Affairs Art Festival Award for Excellence in the movie music for the film Translucent Tree.In addition to live performances, he is also energetically engaged in charity activities and teaching younger generations.
