Reading is reading aloud written text and expanding it in space.
The purpose of these drama readings is to create opportunities for both readers and listeners to encounter more plays from the same era.

[Story] A prison in some country.A young woman visits an old man.
The old man says he killed his cousin to take revenge that has been handed down from generation to generation.
The woman asks why it was someone else who was killed and why there was such a mistake.
The old man replies that it must be his cousin.
Eventually, as they talk through eight meetings, an unexpected connection emerges between the two.

The work was commissioned by the Atlanta Olympic Committee to Joseph Chaikin and Sam Shepard and premiered in 1996.

We received a comment from Shintaro Mori, director of the theater group En.
“This is a story of struggle that has been handed down from generation to generation. I hope you can feel it," he said.

★★Comments have arrived from the performers (Ryuzo Hayashi, Marika Hayashi).
“Ever since it was decided that I would be appearing in a drama reading at Theater Tram, I have been restless for some reason.
In the summer of my first year at the Haiyuza Training School, I read Ryunosuke Akutagawa's "Kumo no Thread" for the first time at the Haiyuza Theater. At that time, even though he was terrified by the empty space of the stage, he managed to pull himself together. We of the radio generation have nurtured our sensibilities based on our experience and imagination (creativity). Is my restlessness this time too cool if you say it's an old man's awakening to my partner's daughter, who grew up in the visual age? (Ryuzo Hayashi)

“This time, I will be doing everything for the first time. Theater Tram stage, reading performance, and 'two-person play with my father'.
It may be a struggle with the difficulty of capturing the real father as a completely different person. And I'm really looking forward to seeing how my father and I will be able to "cook deliciously" on stage!!" (Marika Hayashi)
